The Existential Crisis of Bad Fruit
The existential crisis of the morning: whether or not to throw away bad fruit!
I joke, but seriously- cutting into some nectarines that were just bad brought back a childhood memory of being told not to waste food because of starving children in Africa. There’s so much pressure to follow through, to see things to completion, even when something no longer excites us.
It made me realize how often we put up with things simply because we should or because we don’t want to be wasteful.
And don’t get me wrong- I don’t like being wasteful. But I caught myself about to eat something that didn’t excite me, and why?
I ended up tossing four nectarines that morning and had to give up because they were just flavorless.
I think this is a perfect analogy for life. Rather than suffering through something that's just OK, what about holding out for what's fabulous? For what's exciting and pleasurable and flavorful? Releasing that old scarcity/guilt programming and giving yourself permission to have the thing that brings you joy?
Life's too short for bad fruit. Let yourself hold out for the juiciness.🍑✨
