Technique to Calm Your Nervous System

It's hard to know what to say today, as half this country is in shock and trauma.

For those feeling the shock, or the numb, honor your feelings. You may not be able to ground yourself, I sure haven't been able to, and you may feel “unmoored and restless” as a friend described- that’s understandable. Don't push it.

Do as little as you can, disconnect- especially from social media, grieve, release rage safely (ideas here), and give yourself the time and space you need to process.

If you’re not in that camp, have compassion for those who are.

This week (the timing isn’t lost on me), I'm teaching you a technique to calm your nervous system. It's super easy to implement, especially whenever you feel stressed, unsafe, and out of sorts.

From inaction and freeze, to fight or flight and over doing, all are signs of a dysregulated nervous system.

This technique brings you back to an inner place of rooted safety so you can feel calm, grounded, and empowered in present time.

Now I will say, some of you won’t be able to do this today, nor will you have the desire to calm your nervous system and that’s OK!! Keep this in your back pocket for when you’re ready.

Wrapping everyone in massive love.
