Many of us (yes, I’m raising my hand too) have an issue with over-thinking: going into a mental spin and working ourselves up.
Sometimes it’s with the overwhelm of all we need to accomplish, sometimes it’s because we’re taking things personally that aren’t personal (nothing is personal by the way), and sometimes, it’s because we’re taking on too much/doing too much/trying to control everything. These are just a few examples, the point is, we over-think things to death. We harp on issues of, “What did he mean when he said that to me?” or “Everything must be done perfectly, or it’ll be a disaster!” or “I have so much to do, I don’t have time!” (By the way- lack of anything- time, money, energy- is a huge precursor to the mental spin.) We think, think, think, trying to find the solution, but what does all that thinking bring about? Stress. Nervous system overload. Feelings of powerlessness. Because in that swirl of mental energy, we lift out of our body, and into the fast-moving chaos of the mind. We become ungrounded. When we’re ungrounded, we’re more apt to be reactive, unfocused, scattered, anxious, and fearful. Maybe we forget where we put our keys, or we snap at someone asking us a question. Maybe we can’t seem to complete a simple task without getting overwhelmed, or we’re frozen in indecision. There is an elegant solution though. When you’re in a spin and can’t quiet your mind, focus on your feet. “What?” you may be saying. “How is focusing on my feet going to help?” Here’s how- by focusing on your feet and really feeling them, you get out of your mind and back into your body. The feet are connected to the root or 1st chakra, which pertains to issues of safety and security. It’s the place from which we ground into the planet and anchor ourselves into our body. When we’re grounded, we can respond more truthfully and with wisdom to what we need to do. We become more clear-headed and decisive. We can let go of things that really don’t matter. We can be present to what’s in front of us, rather than being in old patterns of behavior or emotions, thereby making empowered choices. Slowing down and anchoring into the depth of your body brings the much-needed centered calm. As a side note - if you’re used to moving fast, multitasking, and being out of your body, this may feel uncomfortable and off-putting at first, especially as you root into yourself. However, if you can stick with it and breathe through any discomfort, the benefits on every level are profound. So, right now as you’re reading, pause, take some deep breaths, and drop your awareness into your feet. Maybe you need to wiggle your toes to even sense them. Feel them on the ground. Don’t think about your feet, feel your feet. Now, shift your focus between both feet, one at a time. Notice the temperature of each foot. Notice the width. Notice the weight of each foot. Feel your big toes. Put your attention on each of your big toes. If you start feeling emotional, allow it, and keep focusing on your toes. Slowly move your attention to feeling your next toe, and the next, continuing until you reach the little toes. Certain toes may be easier to sense than others. Don’t worry if you can’t quite feel some. Now, feel the balls of your feet. Feel the arches. Feel the heels. Feel the Earth below your feet. Not in theory, really feel gravity holding and supporting you. Let your feet be heavy - as if they’re in sand or mud and it feels so good! Imagine roots growing downward from your arches, anchoring you to the planet - spreading wide and deep, steadying you like a tree, connecting you with the strength and calm of the Earth Notice your breathing slows down. You begin to feel more settled. As you feel the soothing, healing, and calming frequency of the Earth- all the chaos releases, and inner quiet arises. Because as you’re grounding your feet, you’re grounding any mental and emotional swirl you’re experiencing. The more you’re settled in your body, the more you’re in your greatest place of empowerment, presence, and peace. Stay focused on your feet for as long as you need, and when you feel done, move forward bringing this grounded feeling with you into whatever comes next. You can return to this meditation anytime you need to feel grounded and centered. If you’d like to be guided through this practice, you can follow along with me here on YouTube. Try this the next time you catch yourself spiraling and notice how different life feels when you’re rooted in your body, versus spinning in your head.

I kept getting requests for help in learning how to muscle test, so I just uploaded a new video on YouTube: Muscle Testing Made Easy.
It’s a simple, grounded way to use your body’s wisdom for clear yes/no answers — whether for supplements, foods, or exploring subconscious beliefs. I love this way of muscle testing and how it helps you too!! To Watch, Click Here. Since we talked about fear last week, I want to share another technique to add to your energy tool belt. I created this a few years ago, and it’s one of my go-to methods because it’s both simple and highly effective.
This technique is especially helpful when fear feels overwhelming or when your mind won’t quiet down—when the inner chatter becomes relentless, almost like a high-pitched, nonstop noise in your head. Often, racing thoughts and overthinking stem from a fear response that gets trapped in the body. If you’ve tried grounding yourself but the panicked mental cacophony won’t subside, stuck fear may be the culprit. In traditional Chinese medicine, different organs store different emotions and the kidneys hold the frequency of fear. Fear can become lodged there, intensifying anxiety and mental static. Here’s what I do when that happens: (If you’d rather watch and follow along, click here for my YouTube video where I walk you through this technique step by step) -Place your hands over your lower back where your kidneys are—no need to be exact. With your hands spread, you’ll naturally cover the area. -Start by gently tapping and taking three deep breaths in and out. This helps loosen that high-frequency panic you may be hearing in your head or feeling in your body. -Next, breathe into your hands, allowing your lower back to expand on the inhale, filling your kidneys with breath and light. As you exhale, imagine that energy flowing down through your tailbone and into the Earth. Repeat this a few times. I find that after doing this, everything settles—my body, my mind, and my emotions all feel quieter. If you still feel amped up, try my deep grounding meditation—earth energy is powerful for pulling out any lingering fear. But more often than not, this technique alone will bring you back to center. Try this the next time fear won’t let go. It’s a simple yet powerful way to reset and find more inner peace. I hope it helps you as much as it’s helped me! Since Love day is coming up on Friday, I recorded a short series of affirmations for you, meant to inspire, uplift, and help you feel empowered. They will open you to greater alignment with yourself and The Universe.
Words can be just words, but frequency and resonance are everything. So, try to feel the energy behind the words. Feel that you are authoring a new reality as you speak the words into existence. For added power, stand in front of the mirror and look yourself in the eye as you say them. You can stand in the super hero pose for an extra boost. (See my blog on that here) Some of the affirmations are long, begin speaking them along with me. When you’re done, give yourself a hug to signal to your body that you're choosing to anchor in these affirmations and say,“Yes please! Nervous system and subconscious, this is what I’m creating and choosing to experience. This is safe and good for me now!” I kept it short, less than 4 minutes, so that you can repeat it as often as you desire. You can also play it in the background when you need to raise your energy. And for those to whom Valentine’s day is not a fun day, or even if it is, give the love to yourself first. Let it be a Self-Love day. You’re very deserving of it! YouTube Affirmations Last night I did a YouTube Live to help you receive healing and support from Angelic Helpers and your unseen team. It involved chakra healing and balancing, as well as healing of the emotional and mental bodies. Plus other fun stuff!
If you've felt the need to stop doing and simply receive extra support lately, I highly recommend you listen! YouTube Link It's hard to know what to say today, as half this country is in shock and trauma.
For those feeling the shock, or the numb, honor your feelings. You may not be able to ground yourself, I sure haven't been able to, and you may feel “unmoored and restless” as a friend described- that’s understandable. Don't push it. Do as little as you can, disconnect- especially from social media, grieve, release rage safely (ideas here), and give yourself the time and space you need to process. If you’re not in that camp, have compassion for those who are. This week (the timing isn’t lost on me), I'm teaching you a technique to calm your nervous system. It's super easy to implement, especially whenever you feel stressed, unsafe, and out of sorts. From inaction and freeze, to fight or flight and over doing, all are signs of a dysregulated nervous system. This technique brings you back to an inner place of rooted safety so you can feel calm, grounded, and empowered in present time. Now I will say, some of you won’t be able to do this today, nor will you have the desire to calm your nervous system and that’s OK!! Keep this in your back pocket for when you’re ready. Wrapping everyone in massive love. Nervous System Technique Since this has come up multiple times in sessions recently, I wanted to point out that the greater the change you experience, the greater the potential disruption to your system. And by system I mean your body, your thoughts, your emotions, your energy levels- all parts of you.
It's not unusual to feel depression after a huge event, even if that event is good. Even if it's a positive. I learned this decades ago from Lazaris, a channeled entity similar to Abraham Hicks. I first experienced this after getting married. Even though I knew what Lazaris had said, I couldn't quite reconcile why I was feeling a weird depression after such a beautiful wedding. But it was because for a year before the event, I expended a huge amount of energy, planning, imaginings, and focus on that event. When it was over, it was a letdown to my whole being. And I don't mean letdown as in it's a bad thing, I mean all my energy that had been so wrapped up in something, now needed to wind down. Sudden change, from massive planning to regular life, is disruptive, and that can cause depression. This also came up when we moved back into our house after a nine-month remodel. It took me a full month to release the depression. And luckily that time, I understood where the depression was coming from and didn’t judge it. I simply needed to allow it and be in it. Which wasn’t fun but when we don’t fight what is and we surrender to it, it moves through much more quickly. I know from the outside it doesn't look rational to feel depressed after amazing experiences. Remember that rational comes from logic and the mind, and that’s not where this depression originates. It comes from the emotions and energy systems. As I said above, when you’ve spent so much of your time, energy, and focus on creating something, once you get it, there’s a period of what feels like a void, where all your energy and focus doesn't have a new place to go yet. It doesn't mean you don't want that incredible thing you worked so hard to create, it doesn't mean something’s wrong with it or you, it simply means you need to recalibrate. You need to sit in the newness and allow all parts of you to catch up. I want you to be aware of this so you can remember it and so that you don’t judge yourself if you experience it. The depression will release and turn to joy, just give it time. I made a video on this subject. Click Here to Watch. In my blogs, I’ve written a lot over the years about the power of your light and The Light when it comes to anything dark, both internal and external- i.e., fears, worst case scenarios, negativity, etc.
There's a fear-based misperception that anything dark can overtake anything of light. It's a huge lie. Today, I speak to that while teaching you a couple techniques. This impromptu video stems from a client session I recently had where this topic came up again. The video is only 5 minutes long, but it’s a powerful reminder you may need to hear, and a way to connect more deeply to your Soul. Look at my video on "Taking Your Power Back" on YouTube for further assistance, or any prior blogs under the category, "Owning Your Light." May this be hugely empowering! YouTube With so many people on their phones all the time, we've stopped seeing the world. And when we do look up, we see what our belief system shows us. But is that really seeing or simply being aware of things that support our expectations?
We need a reset to see from a fresh perspective. Sarah Tacy taught me the beginning part of this exercise in presence. It builds upon techniques I've shared before. Right now, really see your surroundings from a neutral perspective, without story. Look around your room. What do the walls look like? Pause and notice the walls. Now notice something you like in your room. Really look at it and feel the feelings surrounding that item. If you’re at work and nothing makes you smile in your environment, stick with what’s neutral. If you have a window, look outside. Do you see nature? If not can you imagine nature? Observe nature for a moment. There’s no story with nature. The Oak tree isn’t hoping it becomes an Oak. The flowers live their individual purpose and beauty. If you can, step outside and breathe the air. Notice if it's hot or cool and if there's a breeze. Look at the leaves if there are trees around you, or a flower, or the grass. Maybe it's more of a desert environment and you see a lot of brown. Calibrate yourself to nature, if and when you can. Regardless of whether you’re outside or at your desk, now feel your feet on the ground. Take a moment to feel your body. Feel the temperature in the room. Pause for a moment and listen to the sounds around you. Engaging the senses further enhances your presence and grounding, in addition to calming your nervous system. When we're on devices a lot, we stop tuning into our environment. We stopped seeing the little miracles that could be there. But if you attune yourself to seeing more, not only will you become more present, but you’ll actually see more that there is to see. This week, step out of the stories, step into gentle neutral observation, and notice whole new worlds opening to you. Your Future Self thanks you. *If you prefer video, click here to see a slightly different version of this blog* On the Abraham Hicks Emotional Guidance Scale, appreciation has the highest emotional frequency, along with love and joy. It’s an uplifting energy that’s incredibly expansive; meaning the more you appreciate, the more there is to appreciate.
While appreciation and gratitude can go hand in hand, they’re different. According to Google, gratitude “is a feeling of thankfulness,” whereas appreciation “is the recognition and enjoyment of the good qualities of someone or something.” I wrote about appreciation in a 2019 blog with a micro-meditation. I recently listened to an interview with Jack Canfield who reminded me of its power. So today, I have for you a new meditation, similar to the 2019 version, but this one is designed to raise your resonance and vibration even higher than the previous one. Sarah Kristenson says, “Appreciation gives others specific recognition for their part in your happiness or success. If you want to improve a relationship with anyone, show them appreciation.” And from my perspective, that includes yourself and your body. Thus, I added appreciation for specific areas of the body in the meditation, something I started doing for myself that has had wonderfully positive effects. I highly encourage you to listen to this before doing any manifestation techniques as it will elevate that which you’re looking to create. And a huge shout of appreciation to my dear friend Sheva Carr, the architect and Director of HeartMath’s HeartMastery Program for teaching me the basis of this technique. Enjoy!
